I recently purchased some new worship music and this is one of the songs that really has my attention.  It's called Hungry.

Favourite Easter Song

We sang the song 'In Christ Alone' at prayer this morning and as we sang through it some of the statements of truth and declarations about our position in Christ resonated with me in a whole new way.  When I walked into the auditorium before prayer I immediately noticed our cross draped with a large purple cloth and a crown of thorns around it so this certainly helped to draw my focus towards the work that Jesus accomplished on the cross and then as we sang the song I was struck by the wonderful victory of Calvary and everything that Jesus purchased for me on that cross.

This also got me thinking about some other Easter songs that tell aspects and truths of the work of Jesus on the cross and I was wondering what some of your favourite Easter songs might be?  I'd love to hear some of the old and new songs that remind you of the wonderful work Jesus accomplished for us.

Here are the lyrics for In Christ Alone.  Why don't you take the time to read through them slowly and think about the implications the resurrection makes for our lives.  As we journey towards the cross and Resurrection Sunday let's ensure we are living in the light and victory of Calvary.

Do you remember Steven Curtis Chapman?  Do you remember his classic romantic 'hit' - I will be here -? I do, it was played at my wedding.   Here are some of those classic lyrics (don't feel bad if you start to hum the song, I did)

Well I must admit, at that point in my life I did enjoy that song.  But at this point in my life, I'm kind of partial to this song (I agree with it's message completely).
