I'm reading through Isaiah in my devotions right now and this morning I came across a great description of the partnership God wants with me .
Isaiah 50:4,7 - Morning by morning He awakens me and opens my understanding to His will...therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do His will. And I know I will not be put to shame.
The first thing I saw in these verses was that God is not interested in silent partnerships. He is not interested in either one of us taking a back seat or being a casual observer. He wants a daily interaction with us. Not just putting in time, but an interaction that results in our understanding of God and His will being enlarged. And it is clear to me from these verses that God makes Himself available for this daily interaction.
As God does this, my response is to be one of determined action. I must act on what God speaks to me. (Isaiah 43:20 speaking about Israel's sin says, '...you see and recognize what is right but refuse to act on it. You hear with your ears but you don't really listen.')
My part of the partnership is to respond in obedience to what God has revealed to me. And as I do this, I can have the confidence that it will work (...I will not be put to shame...).
Just some thoughts. Have a great day.
Welcome back to blogging..how cool to be able to respond and know of the confidence that comes with it!

Thanks for your thoughts on this passage...sometimes I think God is lonely for our company and awakens us to see if we will spend some time with him...when we are sleepy and trying to gain composure but not quite there we are tender and vulnerable and sensitive to His voice! I think it is where I most like to be!PJJ
